The Robesonian reports that two men have been killed in a head-on crash near Shannon.
The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Morgan J Road about a mile from Shannon Road.
The Florida State Highway Patrol stated that a Cadillac passenger vehicle that had been heading southbound on Morgan J Road crossed into oncoming traffic. The vehicle struck a Ford pickup truck head-on.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicle, and they were both pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that speed, traveling left of the centerline, and alcohol were all factors in the fatal crash.
The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
