CBS Channel 47 Fox Channel 30 Jax Action News reported recently that a motorcyclist was killed last Friday morning in Jacksonville after a collision with a car.
According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, the incident occurred on Lem Turner Road near the intersection of Lem Turner and Snell Street, in the Northside neighborhood of Jacksonville. JFRD crews responded and initially reported there were critical injuries in the incident.
According to the FHP, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead later that morning at a local hospital. Traffic was diverted in order for FHP troopers to investigate the accident.
Also on Friday, elsewhere in Florida, the Bradenton Herald reported that a motor vehicle accident in Manatee County shut down a major intersection in the area.
Two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection of U.S. Highway 301 North and 44th Avenue East between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), While there was some movement through the intersection due to law enforcement directing traffic, motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible to not add to the severe congestion caused by the incident. No other information was made available.
