ClickOrlando.com / Channel 6 News reported recently that one man is dead and another injured following a head-on motor vehicle collision that occurred in the Orlando suburb of Windermere, FL on Monday, April 12, 2021.
According to officials from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred along Winter Garden Vineland Road near the intersection of Winter Garden Vineland Road and Overstreet Road in Windermere, between 4:15 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Monday, April 12, 2021. A man from Orlando, 72 years of age, was reportedly driving northbound on Winter Garden Vineland Road when he veered off to the right of the roadway for unknown reasons still under investigation. He struck a cable box along the side of the road, which redirected his vehicle back into the northbound traffic lanes and then across the grassy center median into the southbound traffic lanes, where his vehicle collided head-on with another sedan headed southbound on the roadway.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man from Kissimmee 26 years of age, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident from injuries sustained in the impact, while the first driver was medically transported to Advent Health Celebration for treatment of serious injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
