A horrific crash happened in Palm Beach County over the weekend between two vehicles. Five people were killed and five others injured. WPBF has the details.
Just after midnight on May 30th, a 2013 Hyundai Genesis was driving east on Camino Real and approaching Sanibel Drive. Eight people were on board the vehicle. The driver, for reasons unknown, lost control of the vehicle and began to rotate.
The car hit a concrete pole and started rolling into the westbound lanes of Camino Real, lifting itself into the air and landing on top of a 2014 Mercedes C250. The two people in the Mercedes were crushed in the crash.
Inside the Hyundai, the driver and two other passengers were also killed at the scene. The other five in that car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police are still investigating why the car went out of control in the first place.
This is a deeply tragic crash, especially for only involving two vehicles. Our condolences go out to the families of the deceased people. We also hope those in the hospital make a full recovery, and hope they can explain to police what happened that night.
Despite the death of the driver, it should still be possible for all the living victims and their families to contact the responsible insurer and make a claim.
