On November 3, 2013, Jason and Debi were pleased to donate $500 for the opportunity to attend the organization’s Celebrity Chef Culinary & Wine Experience, while also participating in the nonprofit’s appeal. The event featured special bites and wine pairings by local chefs like Dena Marino, Max Santiago, Norman Van Aken, Michael Moran and Vince Navarrete.
The highlight and goal of the special event was to raise money to support I Care I Cure’s mission to find a gentler cure for childhood cancers. Parents Beth and Brad Besner founded the organization in honor of their 11-year-old son, Ian, who passed away in 2006 because of complications associated with his leukemia treatment.

(855) 529-0269I Care I Cure offers financial support for the research and development of innovative cancer treatments that are less toxic and more targeted to help children coping with cancer. The organization also raises public awareness of the special challenges children face when undergoing conventional cancer treatments and the potential for viable medical alternatives. The group’s goal is to help drive public funding for genetic research into better treatments for young patients.
Though the nonprofit is based in Davie, Florida, it provides much-needed funding for research institutions across the country. For instance, the group donated $200,000 in grants in 2012 alone, with money going to support scientists at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the University of Wisconsin, among others. Our family – and law firm – is pleased to personally and financially support an organization that truly puts its money where its mission is.

(855) 529-0269I Care I Cure is not the only nonprofit we support in our South Florida community. We also would like to highlight the important work done by Debbie’s Dream Foundation. This 501(c)(3) organization is focused on raising awareness of stomach cancer and providing funding for research for a cure. The nonprofit also provides support to patients and caregivers locally and on an international level.
Our involvement in these and other nonprofits is part of our law firm’s and family’s commitment to give back to the community that has so generously supported us throughout the years.
