Goodyear Tire Recall Affects More Than 6,000 GM SUVs

Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has announced a new recall of tires that includes as many as 45,500 tires installed in many General Motors SUVs. The company says that the recall is linked to possible defects in the tire tread. The company became aware of those defects during endurance testing.

General Motors has already taken action to reduce the risk of injuries involving tire blowouts on these vehicles. It has stopped sales of approximately 6,300 GMC Arcadia, Buick Enclave, and Chevrolet Traverse cars.

Tires Included in the Recall

The tires that are included in this recall are the 18-Inch Fortera Hl tires. The tires were manufactured between November 30 and January 10. The company is currently working together with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on implementing the recall. No other automakers have these tires installed in their cars. General Motors is soon expected to issue a recall for the vehicles with the defective tires.
