In an effort to tackle the large number of slip and fall accidents reported in Palm Beach County, Florida, officials announced three senior health fairs in January.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said 87 percent of the 911 calls they received in 2015 were regarding medical emergencies. The most common calls they responded to involved slip and fall accidents. They have collaborated with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County and the Board of County Commissioners to organize three health fairs on January 19, 25 and 26.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue community education specialist Elyse Weintraub Brown commented, “Our goal is to connect Palm Beach County residents with valuable lifesaving information and services that will empower them to make informed decisions related to their health, safety and overall happiness.”
