A quick-thinking hit-and-run victim gave police the evidence they need to ask for public help to identify who was responsible. WKRG reports.
The troopers told the media that a dark Mazda hatchback was seen fleeing a hit-and-run accident on Pensacola Boulevard and Hope Drive. The accident happened today around 3:40 p.m.
The victim managed to follow the Mazda and snap a photo of the vehicle. The photo shows clear damage on the driver’s side.
A report from witnesses states that the Mazda was driving recklessly prior to the crash, including passing a stopped school bus and driving in the opposing traffic lanes.
In a separate crash in Ocala reported by Click Orlando, a person was taken to the hospital after their car rolled over. The crash happened on East Silver Springs Boulevard.
Two cars were involved in the incident. The rolled car was completely on its roof. Police had to use wooden wedges to stabilize the car enough to get the driver out of the vehicle through the passenger side window. That driver was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured and had minimal damage to his vehicle.
We hope that everyone injured in these cases has a complete recovery, and that police find the hit-and-run driver to account for his actions.
