When a smaller vehicle gets into an accident with a tractor-trailer, the smaller vehicle comes out worse for wear. The mass of commercial vehicles makes them hit much stronger than a normal car crash. The results are often fatal.
MyPanhandle.com reported recently that a two-car motor vehicle accident occurred in Walton County, Florida on the afternoon of Friday, March 19, 2021, claiming the lives of a man from Navarre and a man from Crestview.
According to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Friday, March 19, 2021 along U.S. Federal Highway 90 near Wilderness Road in Walton County, in the central part of the Florida panhandle. A sedan, being driven by a man of unreported age or origin with a man from Crestview 46 years of age and a man from Navarre 38 years of age as his passengers, was headed east on U.S. 90 approaching Wilderness Road. At the same time, a tractor-trailer driven by a man 60 years of age was approaching Wilderness Road on U.S. 90, headed west. The sedan driver was allegedly driving in the wrong lane. The tractor-trailer driver attempted to evade him but clipped the sedan’s front bumper with the front bumper of his own vehicle.
Both passengers of the sedan were declared dead at the scene of the accident while the driver was medically transported with critical injuries. The tractor-trailer driver is being treated for minor injuries. The accident remains under an active investigation.
